Milano e i suoi tesori

Milan and its treasures

Milan is one of the most interesting places in Italy, a true European metropolis that has become the Italian capital of Economy and Finance, the realm of fashion and Italian design.

Unlike some other great historic cities, Milan requires thorough exploration to reach some of its main monuments, apart from those visible in the center: the Duomo is the symbol par excellence, an undisputed masterpiece of Gothic architecture. To see it almost looks like a huge sand castle, Miracle at Milano with its tall spires gilded copper on top of which stand 3.400 statues, including the beloved Madonnina (Madunina).

The church of St. Ambrose, moved a bit 'more to the east, and dedicated to the patron saint of the city, welcomes the faithful since the fourth century and is one of the oldest churches in Italy.

The historic city center incorporates the famous fashion district Via Montenapoleone, Via della Spiga and Via Manzoni are the symbol of the ready-to-wear Italian and international, home to the most exclusive shops and more big names of world fashion.

The old Milan still fascinates today with its elegant Palazzo Reale, which was the seat of the government and we know today as an important cultural center. The monument to Alessandro Manzoni and his house-museum in via Morone 1, are also not to be missed. The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, in an impressive architectural style of the Belle Epoque European, glass and wrought iron, is another symbol of Milan shopping, a must meeting for coffee break and walk not to be missed by anyone visiting the city.

The Sforza Castle is perhaps the most important historical monument, proud representative of the military events of the city. Inside there are interesting cultural and artistic paths. Leonardo da Vinci has left his most important artistic mark precisely in Milan, in the world famous Last Supper (declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1980) kept inside the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie.

But Milan is not just this.....
